Common faults of pressure sensors
Users often experience sensor failures when using pressure sensors due to various reasons, such as improper usage, external environmental factors, or poor production quality of the sensors. These can all lead to sensor outlet failures. Below are some of the most common faults and inspection methods for pressure sensors, so that everyone can identify the problem.
1、 The pressure can rise, but the transmitter output cannot go up
In this case, the pressure interface should be checked for leaks or blockages. If confirmed, please check the correctness of the wiring method and check the power supply. If the power supply is normal, simply pressurize to see if the output has changed, or check if the zero position of the sensor has an output. If there is no change, the sensor is damaged. Otherwise, damage to the instrument or other parts of the entire system is a problem.
2、 Pressure sensor sealing ring issue
The first pressurization did not change the output of the transmitter, but the output of the pressurization transmitter suddenly changed. After releasing the pressure, the zero position of the transmitter will not return. It is highly likely that there is an issue with the sealing ring of the pressure sensor. Usually, due to the sealing specifications, the seal is compressed into the sensor pressure port after the sensor is tightened, thereby blocking the sensor. The pressure medium does not enter during the pressurization period, but when the pressure is high, the sealing ring suddenly opens and the pressure sensor changes from pressure. The better way to eliminate such faults is to remove the sensor and check whether the zero position is normal. If the zero position is normal, please replace the sealing ring and try again.
3、 The output signal of the transmitter is unstable
This type of malfunction is definitely a problem with the pressure source. The pressure source itself is unstable pressure. The resistance of the instrument or pressure sensor is likely not strong, the sensor itself is very vibrating or the sensor is damaged.
4、 The deviation between the transmitter and the pointer pressure gauge is significant.
This deviation is normal and the normal deviation range can be confirmed; The last simple fault is the impact of the installation position of the differential pressure transmitter on the zero output. Due to the small measurement range of the differential pressure transmitter, the sensing components in the transmitter can affect the output of the differential pressure transmitter. The pressure sensitive element of the transmitter should be installed at an angle of 90 degrees perpendicular to the direction of gravity. After installation and fixation, please remember to adjust the zero point of the transmitter to the standard value.
